Tides:
This is the Quil Ceda Creek which connects to Possession Sound that in turn flows to the more well-known Puget Sound. I spend Tuesday afternoons here since I’m here anyway for Taco Tuesdays Men’s Group and a tasty dinner at the El Ray Mexican Food Truck. We enjoy deep discussion about all things Christ. Lately we are focused on The Gospel. The discussions are consistently fruitful!
The creek view is outstanding huh? I parked the van right next to the grass court that connects to the water, and set out a camp chair, it’s fabulous. Notice how the water is dramatically affected by the tide? Last week it was so low – near empty, this week overflowing all the banks.
Life is similar.
Van life is lonely life, thankfully I’m apparently built for it. I’m okay with my own company and laugh at myself often. I’ve mentioned these oddities. There is spiritual clarity that comes from solitude. But I don’t recommend this lifestyle to just everyone. It could go south if you were disposed to follow mere feelings and standard comparisons of what the world believes is success.
Case in point, my life in Christ is sharing The Gospel, The Milk, The Keys, and The Song. If I were to allow myself to assess that effort by book sales, then it’s a dry creek. But with clarity from The Spirit the beautiful faces of the many people who have come to recognize and apply these truths come to mind. My life is overflowing. I value people over profits, so the high tide is usually in.
On the author front, I had a friend here have AI make some “Explainers” for the books. I’ll share these on the next blog. Fun! The slide animation videos are introductions and begin presenting why these truths remain vital today.
I continue to affirm that a healthy focus on these subjects (knowing them and applying them) will bring a much-needed authenticity back to those lacking. But the tide of that has been out and low for a long spell of church history resulting in plenty of fractures and fakes. Still, I’m not waiting. I’m living these truths daily and sharing whenever ears aren’t itching. You can too!
2 Timothy 4 –
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
