Had van maintenance performed at Prestige Dodge and am pleased I did! Apparently, the brakes and tranny fluid are worth all effort – feels brand-new. Then I caught a cold?flu and recovered in Pahrump while the weather remained chilly and rainy. I feel better today so scratched out a 2026 travel plan with goals: visit peeps to share life, practice Tai Chi, write book-7 (Gospel of Light), zoom-meetups with Jonathan (we’re exploring the second half of Campfire Wisdom), and of course find new folks to engage with over coffee and share about The Four Dialogues.
- Tacoma California because it’s not far and boasts medicinal hot springs.
- Vegas, Henderson, and Boulder City, see long list of friends and family, visit mom and dad memories at the Veteran Memorial Park, maybe camp at Boulder Beach.
- South across Hoover Dam and hike down to one of the Black Canyon hot springs.
- Glamp at Willow Beach RV Park, or dirt camp BLM dispersed land just outside of Lake Mead National.
- On to Kingman, visit Mae, Karen, and their Southern Baptist Church. My Dad’s last residence. He passed on just last year.
- Adventure camp between there and Phoenix, Mike and Connie. Then east of the city.
- As spring buds, roll off up to Los Alamos, New Mexico, Rick and Bobbi.
- And when summer begins to sizzle tour the mountain parks toward Utah, see more fam (departed brother’s), probably try out Jeff’s mountain property.
- Could stop in Mesquite to see Dennis Lee in the fall on my way back into Las Vegas.
So, I really am a pilgrim like Johnny Appleseed (the folklore cartoon version), Abraham, and Christ – planting seeds, seeking a heavenly city, nowhere to lay my head.
Is this lifestyle impractical? Yes, for most, but not for any of your hearts. It’s an expression of a soul set on the fact that this world isn’t my home like His Kingdom is. And that matters – having a heart not trapped, not of this world, like a pilgrim passing through, full of red pills.
Spiritually, I’m not headed anywhere but Eden. But it’s a lifelong trip. A travel song helps when that horizon seems far off. Several resonate out from my youth; It’s a Long Way There – Little River Band, Presence Of The Lord – Blind Faith, Take The Long Way Home – Supertramp. But I’ve been humming a tune, and I had Michael, my stellar son-in-law, lay down a scratch track sometime back. The tune is worth bringing back to my memory.
You could understand all this better if you set 2026 to hike into the Draw Me Away Series. It will highlight directions to Eden if you’re a wandering nomad in Christ and will strengthen your hope as you explore a new trail in the new year. Enjoy.
